Name: Damnang Dorothy Tindam Journalism is the occupation of writing, editing, photographing, broadcasting news, or of conducting any news organization as a business. The word "journalism” is derived from the word "Journal" which means a daily register or a dairy-a book containing each day’s business or transaction. Journalism was founded by an Indian man who goes by the name James Augustus Hicky in addition to the Calcutta General Advertiser in 1780. To begin with, Alberto Cairo said and I quote "if you learn what I teach you really well, nothing will happen to you if the news world goes under water at some point”, going forward he told his students, "Even if all the newspapers disappear, they still have a job”and on this note, I base my point that journalism is not a profession.
